Peter-John de Villiers Talks About the Lifelines You See and the Art You Love
Images, images, images. They transcend time and our inner space. The memory markers they create in us, built on the cornerstones of context and idiosyncratic chaos, never cease to amaze. These perceptual intersections are what make the art world so very compelling: even with historical context and heavy post-rationalization of the classics, we still build our own unique little bridges in time—from what we saw to who we are.

Peter-John de Villiers makes pen-and-ink monochromatic studies of classical masterpieces, drawing lifelines from his heart to present images as a parallel retrospective of his life.

Peter-John joined us for our most recent First Thursday experience. We listened to him discuss his newest work, his process, and his perspective, which helped kick-start a dialog about the lifelines we see and the art we love.
